Project Life Support.

An option.

Eclipse
http://syracuse.craigslist.org/ctd/2348758900.html

It's a maybe.... gotta call on it..

Then there's these..

Probe.
http://rochester.craigslist.org/ctd/2337149316.html

Cavalier
http://scranton.craigslist.org/ctd/2347276613.html

A bit out of my driving range.. but I might be able to make it out there. Since they're dealers I can drive it home and not make two trips, as long as they have a fax lol.

Opinions? I know the cavalier will get the best mileage, then the probe close behind, and the eclipse in the end. The eclipse has a good resale if I decide to sell it, cavalier is easy to find parts, and the probe is the cheapest. However the eclipse needs paint, the probe needs work, and the cavalier is well.... a chevy.

Those cars are out. The probe was crap, the eclipse was awesome but too far away, and the cavalier was a chevy.

I emailed a guy about a 73k mile 1993 Lincoln Mark VIII with the 4.6 V8 but I really want something better on gas. I need something by 3:00 today is what sucks, so I'll end up with what I get I guess.

That's a shame about the probe. I had a 97 GT that I loved. If you can find another one, get it but beware the 93-95 gt's had distributor issues and the autos of all years 89-97 suck....

but the 89-92 gts were alot of fun :D :D :D :D

Guess I fell out of the loop at some point; when did you sell your focus, and why?
I had a Zx2, I sold it because it needed work bad and I was sick of tricking inspection stations to get it to pass. I sold it to some girl a couple towns away for $2300 and it looks like crap now. She didn't take care of it at all..

I found three options today for vehicles. Everything before now is null.

There's a '99 F150 V6 stick shift for sale in the next town over. $2500.
Then down the road from that is a 4cyl Mazda 626 that looks real nice, $2500.
And I just found out about an 02 Focus with just over 100k for $2900.

I'm gonna try to talk the guy with the Focus down, if that doesn't work out I'll look into the 626 if they get back to me. Then last resort is test drive the F150 and if I don't like it (I hate standards) I'll borrow either my brothers Pontiac Catalina or his Subaru Legacy for a few days. Unless he wants me to drive his van but he just got that.

F150 is probably a good deal. It's a regular cab STX 4x4 with 136k. New tires, new exhaust. Guy who owns it owns the tow shop/mechanic place next town over. I'm sketchy because it was for sale for 1800 last year by the same guy, but I guess he put more money into it.

Whatever I decide I'll probably fall in love with.

Anyway! Back to the Ranger. Since I'm holding onto my money until I find a car to drive I'm not putting any into the Ranger. I did take the dash trim I had for sale from the parts truck (red) and paint it black so I could start working on my blacked out dash. I need to get my vent panel (the one where the 4x4 switch is on 4x4 trucks) and remove the plug where the 4x4 switch should go. I'm going to put a piece of flat plastic in there that I can create a switch panel for.

Agreed :icon_cheers:
One of the 1st cars I drove was an 89 GT. Had that dreaded auto though, haha

my 1st car was an 89 gt 5-speed. wasnt a time i didnt have it boosting. then i got the ranger and sold the probe.

then a year ago i found another 89 gt 5-speed for 350.00 and rocked that for a while. did a fair amount of work to it then flipped it for 1,500. both were really fun cars

I'm just a weeeeeee bit disgusted that I emailed someone about an S10.

:icon_confused: don't do it..... we would almost give my g/f's away if her dad would let us.. but its legally his truck but... she's driving it... :annoyed:

It all depends on if the mileage is low. Otherwise I'm skipping it.

I need to find something soon. I'm borrowing my brothers '93 Legacy wagon until I get a car. It's low mileage but rusty. One of those cars where the check engine light turns on regularly, gas light is on at 1/4 tank, oil magically disappears, and it's all normal. Feels like a good car though, I'd buy one if I could find one. I hate borrowing peoples vehicles.. I always get worried that I'm going to break something or wreck.

i hate driving other people's stuff.. even my g/fs.. just bc i don't wanna be responsible for it.

but that dang ole s10 needed a block at 60,000 miles... and the trans had to be rebuilt at 100,000... and it wasn't even neglected. it had oil changes, was taken care of, not ran hard...

Another plus for the ranger, I might be getting some used clear corners. Just gotta pay for em and wait for them to ship!

Made contact with the guy who has the S10.

A little back story..

He "gave" it to his son when he was in highschool two years ago, he put it into a ditch nose first his senior year and they put a new grill, hood, fenders, and bumper on it. Apparently the bumper pushed into the fenders, and the hood and grill also made contact with the ditch.

His son, shortly after highschool joined the military and the truck sat since then. He came home a few weeks ago and decided he wanted to go buy a new car instead of drive the truck. His father has decided to sell it since he has no use for it now.

According to the guy who owns it, it has sat for the past year but starts and drives fine.

I'm looking at it on Sunday at noon. I'll let you guys know if I side with the devil or if I keep walking.
