Since the ranger needs an ungodly amount of repairs still, I have decided to pick up another daily driver so I can tear into my truck.

It's about time eh? I've had that rear end, filler neck, exhaust, crossmember, and god knows what else for months..

theres been alot of standard cab 93 up rangers for sale on the island in really good shape for good prices. check out the long island craigslist.

Either way, good progress man! Taking it off the road will be really good to do. I'd love to play with mine but right now, it's strictly a DD. Just maint / repairs when needed...no fun stuff for a long time.

I'm looking more or less for a semi-sporty car than a truck. I'd hate to get another ranger and end up wanting it more than my Ranger.

Yeah, fixed it right up. He replaced the mounts too, I guess it was hanging off kilter or something.

I'm surprised this truck still runs after the idiotic abuse I put it through. It wasn't that he changed the fluid, but that he put it in that fixed the problem. It was nearly empty..

IMHO, if you want a DD that is strickly a DD get something thats a small 4 cyl and barebones. Even better, if it's one that has low resale value for no reason...Like an escort. Good cars that can be had with a stickshift, roll up windows and 30 mpg for 1100 bucks

No escorts. Had a zx2 and I hated the repairs. lol. Speaking of that, I saw it today! It's scratched up on the one side, tires are BALD in the front and I bought them a couple months ago! Not to mention it's COVERED in rust, they definitely never washed it this winter. Made me sad..

The Nissan NX2000 I was looking at is a no go, they took it off the market. I bounced around a little today and so far the only car in my budget that is worth it, is at the very TIP of my budget and beat to hell. It's a 2002 Cavalier, 2 door, green, with 118k for 2300. Sucks. I knew I should have taken out a bigger loan.

There's a tracker in Norwich for sale cheap, but the guy hasn't returned my call.

yeah it is unfortunatley. im asking 4500 for it. wish i could cut ya a break but i need that money to fund the new dakota im buying. or the new ranger if that deal falls through. but keep checking on the island. cars are a dime a dozen down here.
