Project El Taco...1990 BII

Took me about 3 hours total to build, and they are beef, thats for sure... but its one thing Ill never have to worry about!

Nice build, is just me or does the front end need to be aligned??? the tires look like the top is out further then the bottoms..

man this is a great build

Little update...

I got the rear lift on with my shackles and add-a-leafs... gave me roughly 5" of lift. Ive been working on piecing the front lift together. I was going to use some 4" springs, a small spacer, 3/4" or something, 80-96 F150 quad-shock front shocks, My JD 3.5" drop brackets that I added another 1-1/2" to, and some homemade extended radius arms. Got the drop brackets and D35 back in:

Then I stumbled across a CL ad and contacted the guy...

Complete rancho 6" lift, Rancho extended radius arms w/brackets, drop pitman arm explorer 8.8 and D35... Scored it all for $300!

Well I got most of the lift in today, all I have to do is drill the holes for the radius arm brackets, and a bunch of little things. Ill probably have this thing on the road by saturday. Painted everything up red and black and it looks killer!

The steering needs a little work, Im going to do a toe-in/out job on it and see how it feels, if its not too good, im going to have to find a 4" drop pitman. Either way, a little bit down the road, its going to get my version of the stonecrusher setup. It also needs a little fender trimming, fronts rub on the backside of the front fenders. Good news is so far there is no clearance issues with the rancho radius arms.

I was trying to get the 8.8 in there today, but my air compressor had other ideas, so I spent a bunch of time working on that. Ill have that in this week and Ill get some pics up.

Thing still has plenty of power with 3.73's and the 34"s to, so the gear change isnt a priority at the moment.

more soon...

man that front end looks like a mazda... but it clearly says ford.... hum what model bII is that?

Its a Navajo Front end (Mazda Explorer)... My Bronco 2 is a regular old 1990 model...

that looks sick. i wasnt a fan of the navajo grill at first, but it's growing on me.

are those factory b2 wheels that were painted black?

The grille is really gonna look good when I build my bumpers.

Yes those are stock ranger/B2 wheels 15x6's. I didnt think they were going to work to good with the tires, but I think they are perfect, probably the reason nothing is rubbing on the RA's.

Looks bad ass....I think I need to get me one of those!

truck looks great man so with 373 an 34s the sohc has enough power

Just in my little trip around the block, it had plenty of power. Real test will be when I take it out on the trail.
