Project 4x4 Commuter Mazda

I have a bad case of the Ranger lean, even on the newish skyjacker 4" lift springs...time for a 1" block.

might be the jack stands in the bed...:D

Gas tank is on that side, and the battery, at least in mine

both my 89 and 93 lean to the drivers side.

I thought maybe the jack stands were making it lean, but they aren't. I took them out and the level didn't change one bit.

I'm at half a tank too.

I guess the left side springs just sag out more because the driver, battery and fuel tank are all on that side.

aww, it aint that bad. i've studded walls worse than that!

and lets not forget, the tires could be aired to different psi, the ground may not be level. there could be a lot of small factors that when added together, could amount to that difference. including what everyone else mentioned above

Eddie your probably right. I'll get a better picture on level ground....but I'm pretty sure it will be similar.

Just got my tie rods, and shot them with some rattle can....soon as they dry I can re-assemble the steering.

Its done, for now. Still waiting on the M22x1.5 tap and material/time to drop the center link.

But for now it drives great (having the tie-rods so close in length gives the perception of very little bumpsteer, even though I know it is still going on). Much better than stock, stone-crusher, and stock 1-ton setups I have run in the last three months.

Back from the alignment shop. It drives extremely nice now, much improved over the previous setups even though I haven't dropped the centerlink yet. In fact I may not drop it for a while just depends.

Still have very little room behind the right side tie rod and skyjacker bracket, so I might run one of these if I get too much interference:

Now if that damn metric tap would just show up...

looks good buddy, how are those km2's treating ya?

They are great so far, love 'em. Haven't aired them down, but I'm sure they'll do awesome.

Got the tap today, maybe over the weekend if the weather is good I tap that centerlink. Maybe I'll leave it since the current TRE has some life yet still.

Just ordered a set of 2008 square, power mirrors with glossy black caps. $100 shipped! Should be here Friday or early next week since they are coming out of Ontario CA.

KM2 eye candy, note the diesel sized oil filter (thanks to the magazine article by plumcrazy).
