Anyone wanna convert 2,000 CDN to US Dollar? Should be something like $1300 US. Sounds like a screamin' deal for a perfect interior and what sounds like a good engine and trans and what looks like a decent body(minus bed). Like what Chance said earlier, somebody save this thing from itself and it's prospective new owner....part it out. Seriously dude...see what a yard would pay you for it. It needs to be taken off the road. Sell as a PARTS ONLY vehicle ,please. It'll do yourself and the entire land of Cananada and North America a favor.

Ok, so the frame you're building is flat. Are you gonna go monster truck style where articulation doesn't mean a damn thing and there's 6 feet between axle and chassis?

Mobbing through the sand and rocks requires up travel as well as gobs of down travel. With some good long travel leaves, regardless of the shackle set up, you're gonna be slammin ass on that rear axle.

Unless you're doin an A arm suspension and in that case, take shit tons of pictures.

i live in newfoundland where there is alot of woods and pretty much NO sand. My new truck is getting a 4 or 3 link rear(not sure yet) with a-arms up front. truck will be used for going a little fast on logging roads and old train track roads. Also a few sand pits.( when i say sand i mean pee sized rocks ) thats newfoundland sad at its best! so 15-20inches or travel at the high end will do fine for what i will be doing.

15-20!?!?!???? WOW.....ummm....flat stright frame = not good for that much travel....

You do realize that when the rear of a ranger is dropped about 6", C-notch of the frame is required. That existing Ranger frame(not yours, I'm talking stock) is kicked up in the rear. Take that info and apply it to a flat frame, you've basically made yourself the same distance between the axle housing and the frame as in a slammed ranger. Stock front ends have MAYBE 6" of travel, rear MAYBE 8". Those number you want to do, is insane if you use that style chassis. That is...unless you make it obscenely HUGE like a Florida mud truck.

Never called you stupid...actually....after I posted that, I noticed you said you're keeping the engine(you posted while I was typing, thus making your post not visible to me while I was typing). First time I saw it...have a hard time trying to figure out what you're trying to say most the time. I read you were thinking of keeping the 4.0 because a 5.0 deal fell through.

NO NO NO im not using that chassis, im in the process of making a new one. Its is bake halved, and in the feature a actual full bed cage.

The **** are you doing then?

Stop. Just stop.

???????.. i AM NOT using the straight chassis out of the ranger witch will give me no travel at all. Instead i am building a new chassis from scratch. its going to be a back halved style chassis with a cage, this will give me more then enough room for the travel im looking for .. understand?

That should read "half baked" style chassis......

Dude. Your "new" frame you posted pics of is FLAT. It is ALL rectangle tube! When you stuff your rear suspension your axle will hit the frame. Got it?

Second WHY ARE YOU USING GALVANIZED PIPE????? That is NOT a cage but you will figure that out the first time you roll it.

I am pretty sure you're a ****ing troll.

. hey its me, the owner. yeah i know it ant a race truck but why do u all give a shit? the trucks chassis was rusted to **** so i built one to learn how to weld, cut pipe, and build something to learn . i know it ant a desert truck but i dont give a shit. I learned how to weld and that was the whole point.

buddy's b4 ur a douche bag that all i got to say! kind of sad actually , how old are u now? goin on 30? and im 19 and im the best u got to talk about lol? sad. for one i don't think i said one word to u before in my life so how u would know what type of feller i am and how much of an "idiot" i am i ant to sure but what ever dude. as if u got alot to talk about, ur goin on 30 and im pretty sure u still live wit ur mom?! NICE! i bet that gets the chicks! and as for me talking about ur truck?? trust me i got better things to do wit my time then talk about ur truck, why would i? u got a mazda rip off ranger with a 3 inch body lift and 33's ? so does every one else in newfoundland, nothing special there to talk about. but i wish u good look if u want to sell it for $12500 , your goin to need it.

but im done wastin my time on you dude, just grow the f*%# up man , ya donnie dumphy wana be!

Not 30, 24 ya damn juice arse. I am living with the folks for the summer because I am going to school to get an education, but what would you know about that. And you should not talki about chicks my friend the last I heard you were dating some 15 year old kid in grade 9, yup you're a real winner there fella.

Holy fawk how did I miss this whole thread??

I think it's too late to offer my words of wisdom here....

I go to sleep for one night and you guys do this? Damn, I kinda wish I didn't sleep and read this play by play, woulda pissed myself reading it.

Prerunner, give up. Some people can't swim, so they keep out of water. You can't fabricate, so please...put down that welder, you're going to kill someone with the next truck.

And if the frame was that rotted, why does the body look immaculate? (aside from you're hacking) I do auto body and I'll say 99% of the time, the body goes with the frame. Hell body usually goes first!

This just perpetuates the already brutal stereotypes about Newfoundlanders.

And people wonder where the stereotypes come from?
