Due to an unfortunate turn of events (*caugh*stabbed in the back*caugh*), I have no Ranger at present time, but will soon be the owner of an '84 B2000 and I can't find much info on it besides engine output. It's got the F/MA 2.0 I4 2bbl and a 5 speed manual, standard bed.

Is anyone familiar with pre-RBV B-series trucks? Also if anyone could find pictures of the interior, I'd be thankful. I searched and searched and can't find any.

what sucks is there are NO upgraded parts that I could find like headers and all that jazz.

Again, any info would be useful, I'm not experienced at all with the early B's.

my brother had an 86 B2000. stout little truck.
its nothing like a Ranger tho.
the susp is a bit tough and it wont have that much interior room.
but its a good truck, and if the engine is in good condition u can squeeze like 95 mph out of it lol
his was exactly like this one

Yeah, I knew it was from the time before the B series was a rebadged Ranger.

My Ranger 3.0 I had could barely hit 100 anyways lol. At least I assume it did, speedo only went up to 85.

I don't have a specific pic, but basicly it looks like this one-

Thank, I just skimmed through some of it and learned a least a thing or two lol.

But hey, if nothing else at least working on it will be more challenging, hopefully in the fun way.

And I do love the red color, especially with the white wheels.

I do love a simplified red/black combo. It's a nice shade of red accented by the black bumper, grill, and mirrors.

Hmm, missed this thread....
Just thought I'd toss up a pic of my old 80 Ford Courier, which was just a rebadged Mazda B2000.
Kinda funny, I've owned 3 small trucks in my life. 1st was a mazda with ford badges, and now it's a ford with mazda badges......

Pic is nearly 30 years old (taken in 83/84). Just found it today. Only pic to survive my marriage and subsequent divorce from satan's daughter......

Those little trucks are really cool. My dad used to have one, it had the last body style offered in the US, I think it was a B2000. It was a pretty cool little truck, I actually wish I had a 4wd B2600i, I've always wanted one.

I looked on wikipedia and there was even a Wenkel engine equiped version. I'm sure it was annoying to work on but it's got massive cool factor.

You mean the Wankel engine?

Yes, the REPU (rotary engine pick up) was offered for a few years. They're kinda rare these days, like the majority of the older rotary powered cars. Rust has taken a drastic toll on the survivors, the ones that survived the serious beating that was often given to them, just cause they would run like a raped ape......

Every once in a while, one will turn up around this part of the country. I usually end up getting a phone call or email when they do. I guess people think I like to buy them. Prolly cause I bought 1 RX7, and ended up getting 2 more given to me for free.... They hear I have "a bunch" of old rotaries, so I must buy all that come along....:dunno:

Gotta admit, I would like to find a decent rust free repu, just for kicks.....
Lots of locals were expecting to hear about me doing a 3 rotor (20B) swap into my B2300 when it was first bought, as the engine ran quite poorly.
