I'm working on a 1987 4x4 ranger and I'm putting in a 1991 302 HO motor. I've been on the hunt for the right power steering bracket that will allow me to use the pump that's currently on the truck. I read if you can find the bracket E7TZ-3C511-A, which the Ford dealer says is off a 1987 F150, I can use my 2.9L power steering pump. Problem, I've contact a few place and they want to see a photo of the bracket I'm looking for. I don't know anyone who has the bracket to take a photo. Can anyone help me with either a photo or an alternative route for a bracket and a new power steering pump? Thanks a million.

I beleive all the pumps mount the same, you can use any bracket. Some have the lines exitin in a different direction, so check that first.

Mine is off a non-ac Mustang. You can buy an aluminum fancy thing for around $50 if you want that.

I'm using these:

Pump bolts into this thing.

I think almost all the power steering pumps have the same three bolt mount. Some of the reserviors are clocked differently tho. Is that a serpentine or V belt?

Geez teddy, you beat me. lol

And that bracket is the same one I'm using. Only not so shiny.

Thanks for the info and all the links to your build. Very nice work. I guess I'll start calling around to the junk yards on Monday and see if I can find a mustang non AC motor with a PS bracket. What year mustang should I look for?

I'm putting my engine in this weekend and it's been a lot of work. Hopefully I can get everything set in today and maybe fire it up. Once again, thanks for all your input.

Another one that everybody seems to overlook, availabilty wise, is off of the older C/V. The biggest downside to it is the that Alt. stacks on top of the pump, but at least the Alt. wiring from the C/V is the right length, plus correct plug to just snap into the harness on the Ranger. I am running this setup in my 87 STX.

Looks good, Mudhound.

Notice it's a standard rotation water pump he's using.

Since he mentioned alternator wiring, my Taurus alternator has the plug in a different spot than a Mustang Alt, so my wiring is just barely fitting. But just barely is a also just enough !

Thank you so much for the photo. It helps when you can see a phot of what a person is talking about. Do you know what year C/V that's off of, and you are using the stock PS pump from your ranger correct?

The entire motor came from a 91 C/V, to be exact, while the pump IS the Ranger one. The pumps interchange between the 2 I have found out, so bonus come replacement time, as I kept the C/V pump. I needed a new pump on the Ranger, and when I pulled the C/V one off of the motor, I compared them to each other. Another most excellent feature of this set-up is that I CAN mount a York under ther hood, and not have to worry to much about it fitting, I just need to find the brackets from a mid to late 80's Fullsize. the crank pulley is allready a 2 belt set up.
