92 Ranger 4x4, 2.9L, manual transmission. Driving, everything is normal, but full load of dirt. I went over railroad tracks, the wipers came on and I lost power (probably fuel).

I limped it home, disconnected battery, checked spark cables and distributor. Looked for any obvious issues, reconnected the battery and the problems remain.

Any troubleshooting ideas are appreciated. The two problems starting at the same time boggles me.

Thanks in advance.

Check the ground that goes from the back of the drivers side head to the firewall.

The Ignition switch on the bottom side of steering column is known to cause power loss.
