Polar ice cap

Hey all, I heard on the radio today at work that scientists have predicted that the entire northern polar ice cap will melt this summer.
I tried to get home in time to see if this would be mentioned on the nightly news but got home to late.
Did anyone else hear this? Dosen't this mean really,really bad news?

Here is another article on the ice at the north pole. it looks to me that this is fairly normal occurance even without the volcanic activity to help it along.

MmmmmYaaaa, "ALL" the ice at the North Pole is going to melt in a few months, just because of US!
After 5 and a half billion years of all the shit the earth has gone through, WE the industrialized world is going to destroy it in only 200 years, Ya right!!!

The only thing thing that my happen is AL gore gets a ice water enema and besides, if all the ice melts up there it'll be that much easer for us to drill for oil.

I'm still cracked up by a friend who was all freaked out by
the NORTH pole melting (as a concept) He lives in florida
and was worried about flooding...

I simply couldn't make him understand that the ice at the
north pole is already FLOATING
