PlumCrazy's Build

I was looking at my options for mounting a wide band, and I ran across this

A guy that goes by jaeger6 on Serious Explorations sells them, but I cant seem to get a hold of him. Has anyone on TRS delt with this guy or bought one of these? I love the idea and would buy it if I knew how.lol

If I had an automatic then I would just get a steering column pod for an F150 and trimit down to fit, but I cant find any for a manual trans column.

New slave is in, I actually have a pedal now.lol
old on left new on right

Wideband. I have Ultra Lite II temp gauge on the way too.

I am going to try my hand with fiberglass and make a dual gauge pod that fits on the column

I must have my socks on the wrong feet, the one on the right looks new, and the one on the left looks used and dirty.

Im liking it. I notice it between 3rd and 4th, with lower gears in the trans it used to be quite the jump, now it picks up right where it left off. My A/F shows damn near perfect, but we will see how it looks once I get some headers on there and get things moving. Has a little lope at idle which I think is tits.

I tried fiberglass for the first time ever. It turns out it that it is childs play.lol

For my first time I think it looks good.

I started by making pod shaped "ears" out of green foam for floral stuff.( I looked a bit out of place at the craft store.lol)

I then got an extra column cover at the JY and coated it in painters tape so the resin wouldn''t stick. I also taped on the pods where I wanted them.

The fiberglass laying process goes really quick and sets up in minutes.

I trimmed the edges up with a dremel and sanded off the high spots, then I covered it in a thin layer of bondo and sanded it smooth. It is snug fit over the stock column now.

I figured that I would use "wrinkle" paint to match the texture of the interior, but it came out really wrinkled.lol

I also got around to putting in my new steering box in. I welded my old pitman on since it wore out the splines. So I had to make another one. Tight as can be now.
