The break is in 94. My 93 and 94 have different top plates.

Went wheeling today. Just messing around in a little bowl with some water holes. The front definitely flexes better now that I loosened the RA nuts up a little. Only damage was to one of my roof lights, just bent it back when it caught on a tree, but no biggie.

without pictures.... Lies.... :D

without pictures.... Lies.... :D

Ill get some tomorrow. It was just me and my buddy with his stock Taco. Nothing really challenging. Everything questionable had a bypass around it.lol He took the highroad and watched.

lol. That's awesome. That is what a couple of the Jeeps were doing in Moab. Double Whammy, 3 rigs went around.... Not D. She dove right in :headbang:

jeeze... by passes... thats only for when your broke. why go out four wheeling to go around all the fun stuff i dont get it.. then again i trailer my junk so i dont care if it explodes :D

Well. I went out to see if the new D44 would hold up. . .and it did. The truck suffered a some body damage, which I knew was inevitable being a long wheelbase truck. I trashed my rear drive shaft too. It turns out I should have trimmed the skid plate a little more.lol Still drivable, but looks pretty sketchy.

I caught the pass rear wheel on a tree and it pulled the bed into it. Then I slid into the bank and kinked the rear quarter and I honestly dont know what happened above the tail light. I assume it happed when I got pulled out and backed into the opposite bank.

The BII n the pics is my buddy (Full_Tank_Of_Fun) who just picked up an 86 BII. All we have to it so far is swap in a manual tcase.

Looks fun. And that less body damage then I had. Good luck on totm

I welded a sleeve over the damaged section of driveshaft for a temp fix. I still need to send my PS pump out to have it remaned I bought the last Saginaw in the country apparently, so now that its toasted I have to have MY pump rebuilt and sent back for the warranty.

Here is what the drive shaft looked like from hitting the gas tank skid, it wasnt bent at all just dented up, no vibration at 70 mph on the freeway. Bu I figured I should reinforce it anyway.

I trimmed back the the skid and reworked the support to clear the shaft. The bottom weld looks terrible in this picture for some reason, but its and nice bead up close.lol

I also found my shift knob for the doubler. Its out of a full time 4x4 70s Jeep of some sort. It will work perfect for the push/pull shifter.

I also threw a 3"stack on for a while. It started as a joke, but it looks legit.haha

I fixed my pump myself. I really didnt want to wait for my pump to be sent out and remaned then sent back, so I went to the boneyard and grabbed a pump from an early 70's Camaro, which is a Saginaw pump that has a very similar reservoir to the Ford Saginaw pump. The only difference is the return line barb is soldered on in a different spot. I was going to just pull the Ford bolt pattern adapter off my pump and swap pulleys and run it, but then I found out that the Camaro pump has a smaller shaft with a key, so I pulled the pumps apart and swapped vanes, and rotating assembly out of the Camaro pump as well as the end plates. The only thing wrong with my old pump was the front end plate and the rotor was chewed up, so the vanes didnt seal against the plate. The main housing of the pumps have the same casting number, but the Ford pump seemed to have heavier springs, so I used all the Ford stuff. Works like a dream now.

I pulled my air filter off to clean it, and found an awful lot of muddy water droplets in the intake tube. So I got to work on this.

I used a stock intake boot from a 94 2.3 Ranger that used to connect the airbox to the tube, it slips perfectly onto the 95+ airbox adaptes it to 3" pipe as well as elbows it. Then I ran 3"exhuast tubing back to the cowl and used a 45* rubber boot to shoot the pipe up through the fender an along the window. I bought a mandrel bent 3" U and cut out the angles I needed to run along the window and go vertical. I used a precleaner off a John Deere 4400 combine to top it off. The preclreaner fits snug on a 3" OD pipe and only cost me 2 bucks at the tractor JY. I picked up a new clear plastic bowl for 10 bucks since the old one was cracked.

I lost all of my pictures of the snorkel build, but I used an old junk fender for a test fender when I cut the hole, then made a stencil to transfer it to the good fender. I used a some sort of rubber edging that my dad had laying around to seal the hole around the pipe.

Ill snap some pictures of the setup next time I have the fender off.
Pics.

Here is what the boot connecting the airbox to the pipe looks like.

Its off a 93-94 2.3

I bought a mandrel bent 3" "U" and cut and clocked various parts until it looked the way I wanted, then welded it up and ground the welds flush.

The pipe behind the fender has a 30* bend or so to get it up over the wheel arch.

There is 45* boot connecting the mid pipe to the snorkel.

I actually made the exhaust a little more legit with mandrel 3" pipe and a bult a new crossmember to clear it better.

Does it make popcorn?

No, but it does a damn good job separating the water and dirt out of the incoming air. It spins the air fast enough to fling the heavier particles to outer edge of the bowl. I dumped out a bunch dirt already.

thats pretty cool.

What did you do to waterproof the electronics and stuff?

Other than putting shit tons of dielectric grease on all the connections, nothing. I extended all the diff, trans, and tcase breathers up to the master cylinder area. I havnt done the rear yet, but Im just going to run it up behind the taillight.

I am planning on putting on an electric fan too, that way I shut it off in deep water and mud to keep from flinging it everywhere or getting into the rad.

so what happens if your fuse box gets wet? Or your coil pack?
