Please Help me with my Ranger!!!!

I am going to double check for air leaks again. NEW SYMPTOM now cylinders #5 and #6 misfire.

Update

UPDATE:
Me and my mechanic friend worked on my truck this past week. We checked the plugs again and they show nothing out of the norm. We changed the intake and plenum gaskets and tightened the rocker arm for #6, it seemed a little loose but not a whole lot. NOTHING changed I am still getting a misfire from cylinder 6. Its only misfiring at idle and only when the truck is really hot. My friend thinks it could possibly be a burnt valve, but why would compression test ok? I love my truck but seriously, this has got to end!!!

I agree that a full electronic analysis is what you need now and possibly the use of a smoke machine to find a hard to locate air leak. You'll just have to spend some money for expert diagnosis.

spray brake clean around your intake manafold and vac. lines, and listen for your idle to go up. if it does then you found your vac. leak. be very careful with it the exhaust manafold, it will ignite the brake clean.

also check your wire harnes for chewed wires. and make shure your ground wires are attached.

I am still looking for air leaks, several people have suggested it. I just have one question. The problem is intermittent, wouldn't an air leak cause the problem all of the time? For example, the problem went away yesterday and the day before, but its back today?

look for a rotted or torn vac. line, engine ground strap and or body ground can cause a misfire, bad ground = bad sensor readings.

Have you tried using a vacuum gauge to test for the air leak? It can also tell you if the valve is burned.

I will do the vac test, i tried the carb cleaner and i got nothing as far as finding a leak. I did see a very dirty body connection that hooked up to the back of the engine (facing the body) right behind the #6 cylider, It was oily, I took it off and cleaned it. I still have no change. I am going to look for more grounds and do the vac test, I will update with results by friday. Thanks for all of the suggestions!

If you take a length of vacuum hose say 3 feet and tape a wire to one end clothes hanger whatever you can bend easy leaving the tubing open and with your ear on the other end you can hear vacuum and exhaust leaks while the engine is running and get in tite places to pinpoint the leak when you get close you can hear the difference to test what your looking for just put the end of the tube in the carb or TB. The guy at the muffeler shop showed me the wire thing for reaching hard to get at places and you can bend the wire for weird angles.
