1996 ranger extended cab, auto 4X4 30 dana. When I tore down my knuckles to replace balljoints I found odd number of parts and then found missing parts but never having worked on a ford front end like this i didnt know what I was missing. So I stopped at a local dealership and got their breakdown of it. Ive id'd missing parts by thier part number on the diagram. I am missing 3 of the washers #3B458, I ordered replacement milemarker hubs. Will i need any of these in the conversion? I am also missing what looks to be a spindle seat #1214 Is this part critical in the front end or can i ignore it? Something else seems to be missing as well between the spindle and the grease seal #4793-S2(K-67-A). Im awaiting delivery of my new milemarker hubs spindles and rotors and I wanted to get anything else I would need beforehand. What kind of damage could have been done to the axle by running it without all of the Washers 3B358 installed? There were two on one side and none on the other. It didnt suprise me after finding someone had removed the check engine bulb because the couldnt find a leaking vac line o2 sensor and EGR diff witch problems. Thanks for all the input in advance. I love this site!

Your front axle is actually a Dana 35, unless a straight axle was swapped in.

I can't help with anything else except suggesting to slow down when you type; it's kinda hard to read.

Are you talking about the hub nuts and lock washer? You'll need to order them in order to use the manual hubs. The manuals use a different type of locking nut than the autos. Either from the dealership, spicer, or warn. It's a little difficult to know exactly what you are talking about. Here's a diagram:

Ok ill try this again. First off here is the diagram I was looking at when I posted. http://i511.photobucket.com/albums/s358/whtailhunter319/RangerAxle.jpg I got this from the dealer as all I could find online was diagrams showing manual locking hubs only which didnt look the same.
This is just a daily driver that i picked up. The auto hubs were all hacked up so I ordered a set of manual MileMarker manual hubs with the conversion kit. I know the warn require some of the original parts but i could not find any info stating that the milemarkers do. Can anyone verify this? If so what will i need to retain to complete the conversion?
Parts I noticed were missing are as follows according to the diagram above.
3B358 Thrustwashers??????
1214 Spindle Seat????? Dust shield???? There are two listed same number
34793-S2(K-67-A) I have no idea what this is..

When i began disassembly of this i found only 1 of the "thrustwashers" on on the driverside and 2 of them on the passengers. There is alot of slop on the inner spindle. Is it possible the missing "thrustwashers" damaged my differential? The axles look to be in good shape. I had the tires on without the hubs and when i shook the tire I could see slop in the inner spindle and axle, would this be caused by the lack of thrust washers? Should I change out the inner spindle bearings? They look to physically be in good shape assuming the missing thrustwashers are causing the play im seeing. I havent turned many wrenches on 4wd front axles so i appreciate any input.

Ok guys does this make it any easier to help??? Im hoping to knock this out this weekend so any input will be greatly appreciated.
