I installed some two-piece 4 degree alignment bushings on my Dana 35. Yesterday I noticed a bunch of play in the top of the knuckle. I thought it was bad upper joints, but realized the shaft of the balljoint is not being clamped enough....it is loose within the bushing. Even if I crank the pinch bolts way above spec the joints are still loose in the bushing. Has anyone else seen this happen??

Yes. Mine were like that as well after driving a weekend. I just tightened the pinch bolt tighter. Been good ever since.

No problems here... (using the Ingalls)

I was reading the wrong torque spec. Should be around 100 ft. lbs. but I had them at 40. :annoyed:

That'll do it lol.

I generally just tighten things until they feel good & tight, myself. Only if it's something critical do I normally consult the torque specs (engine/differential internals, cyl heads, etc.).
