Just wondering if anyone is planning any adventures with their Ranger this year? If so, when and where are you going?

Driving from maine to florida in a few weeks on a 2 week east coast fishing trip. Not really a "ranger" adventure but it will be my home for those 2 weeks...

Sounds like it could be an adventure....

I'm in central NJ, if you need anything along the way don't hesitate to ask.

I'm in North Florida, if I can help you when you get here, just let me know

Getting a decent v8 donor seems to be an adventure. ?

I live in central NJ as well so I'm pretty much planning on skipping it when I come back down the coast. I may stop home for supplies but my plan is to go through PA to do some trout fishing.

I'm already mentally preparing myself for the weirdness that is Florida. I need to stop googling "Weird Florida Crimes" :icon_rofl: Seriously... wtf florida...

What part of PA are you planning to go through? I actually have my trout stamps this year.

Hey, The New Adventures of Florida Man is my favorite comic book.

The only place I know of to go is near you, Harrisburg/dillsburg to fish the yellow breeches creek for trout and the susquehanna river for flathead. But I plan to explore a bit. Might stop to see a race at williams grove and see if i can stay the night on beer hill.

Have you heard of "The Florida Man Challenge". Where you type your birthday and "Florida Man" and see what crazy headline comes up.

I got "Florida man arrested for kicking swans in the head at park"

I got " Florida Man arrested for slapping his Wife in the face with a Burrito."
This should be its own thread, now that I think about it. So I made it a thread in General Discussions

If you come at the right time Children's lake in Boiling Springs, and the Breeches just below it are good spots. The problem is that the regs there are so confusing I can't even understand them, so I don't fish there.

My SIL, who is about 5'3" and 130 lbs pulled a flat head almost as big as her out from under the Rt 30 bridge by Hellam a few years ago. Her husband says they are all over down there.

One of these days I want to head down to Florida and fish for snakes head. They are hyper aggressive, hit on almost anything, super invasive so no limits on size or daily catch, and they are supposed to be good eating.

I'm seriously considering the TRS Roundup in Ohio. Haven't told the wife yet.

I've fished around boiling springs, there is a fly fishing only area downstream of the allenberry inn and above that is artificial lures only. The reg book gives very confusing boundries to the zones with crap like "fly fishing only within .5 miles downstream of the old tree george washington peed on to within 43 yards of where that old lady was murdered in 1804." I had the guys at the fly shop in boiling springs mark everything on a map for me about 10 years ago.
