Hey guys, I have to get this truck done today, and don't know what is going on. I'm installing a new pinion seal and I can't get the flange to pull flush. I have it on as tight as I could hand tighten it, and quickly hit it w/ an impact (not much cause I didn't think I should have to yet) and the flange still won't pull flush. See the attached picture.

What the heck is the problem? Is it really hard to get this flange flush? Based on the write up in the tech section I didn't think it would be. Please let me know if something is wrong, what I can check, etc. The flange wasn't difficult until right when it stopped.

HELP!!!

that is a correctly installed flange. those 2 pieces should not be touching.

if the nut is tightened down to where it was originally + 1/8th turn and the pinion bearings are not sloppy it should be donw
