Picture request - 1991 parking brake cable tension adjuster spring

Looking for an illustration or picture of how the spring attaches. This is the spring under the cab to adjust the parking brake cable adjuster..

Thus..the springhooks on or behind the cable bracket, and hooks on the splice connector, on the strangers 2 spring is loose it should have at least a little bit of tension on it when the emergency brake is off, on both of my rangers I've replaced it and use the better spring longer and stronger

You're welcome! I just found a better picture.
If you have new cables to the drums you can almost get away without the spring but it is still needed to keep the cable from drooping. .

i know it's been a few months since this thread has been replied to... buuuuuuuuut...

i'm needing to figure out how to hook up the brakes on my '92 Ranger, 2wd 2.3L. when i got it, the cable was broken, and when a friend of mine and i went to put brakes on the rear, we had to zip tie the cable up so it was off the ground and out of the way. but now i've got all the stuff to hook them up, i just need to figure out how to get them hooked up.

Hooked up in general. When I got the truck, the parking brake wasn't working, and when I looked under it, everything behind the equalizer was gone. Only thing I currently have to go off of, is a picture that I found a night or two ago, when looking for a diagram for how to get it all hooked up. So right now, i'm just kinda stumbling around in the dark.

So one cable, the longer, is going to pass over the rear differential, through a clamp that also houses a brake line splitter. The drivers side cable has a plastic hanger, gone from my ranger, then goes into the hub where it connects to a parking brake arm. Everything on my car was so corroded, that I cut all of the e brake cables out up to the cab. The E brake shoves the rearmost pad up into the drum to lock the wheels. It looks like the back side of a hearing aid.

Looks like there are still a couple of things I need to get before I can actually hook it all up... you probably saved me hours of scratching my head and cursing. lol

I would strongly recommend, if you’re going into the drums, getting a spring kit from Advance or Autozone. Also, get the spring tool, it makes life easier. They’re pretty cheap.
