Pics of my truck/Suggestions for upgrades/mods??

Ah excellent. Yeah, I live in Herkimer. From Newport originally. Work down near Cooperstown. Don't drive the truck usually, the wife does. I drive the 2012 Impreza sport premium... 5-speed manual :D That hill is nasty in the winter. You know the area?

oooooohh sport premium edition. you bought an impreza and didnt opt for a wrx or sti? no wonder you don't know what autocross is haha

That truck is hella nice! How did the lift/tires affect your MPG? Also, did you come from steel rims? I will be. I will probably get 15" aluminum ones from the local u-pullit and offset the increased weight of the tires a little, less mass to turn will help. :) I'm guessing I don't have 4.10's in my truck... I'll have to figure it out. Isn't there some sort of # or label stamped on the diff someplace? I remember reading that somewhere. Also, thanks for the encouragement, instead of just telling me to get a 4x4 or lower it lol! I don't plan to drive through 3 feet of mud with it... lol All though I will prolly give it a shot once it has a winch and all that. I think I'd like to put a new bumper on the front, and a skid plate also.

I do know what it is, I just didn't recognize the abbreviation... lol I opted for the sport premium because it gets 32mpg... I'd get maybe 24 in the WRX. I drive 32 miles one way to work 6 days a week, so I opted for the sport premium. Also was the only manual tranny on the lot. The wife will only drive manual, and I prefer it. Once I get this truck built, I might have to build another ranger for me, she will likely steal it! :D

Thanks, Bro. It has been a great truck. I get 24mpg on the highway. Not so good around town, about 17mpg. The 4.0 motor helps push the taller wider tires. I trail ride with it and go places I take my Jeep. I don't do mud...even in my Jeep. I don't see the reason for it...unless it is a rainy day then that is different...lol. I take it to remote fishing areas with one of my flats boats. Sometime it might be muddy after a good hard rain, but the truck goes where I take it since I know the areas so well. I really do hate having to clean up that muddy mess!!! LOL.
If you look at your rear end you should see a small tag (metal plate) on it. It should be on the front of the housing (gear area). Most every truck I have looked at has one...and then...some don't for some reason. The tag should tell you the size of the rear end...7.5, 8.8 and the gear ratio...3:73 4:10 for example. Hope this helps you out.
As for a winch you can get the Smittybuilt 8,000 lb one for a good deal here on this site. You can get the portable winch carrier as I have to mount the winch in you receiver hitch (2 inch only, don't get anything smaller). I can put my winch on the front or back receivers if the need be. I have never been stuck before and hope I never do, but when I am out in the truck so far it is nice to have the winch along if I need it.

I get 24 with mine, on average. So a 4.10 with bigger tires should be fine, except... mine is a 2.5l... lol So I think I won't go bigger than 31x10.5's. With aluminum rims. Maybe not even... 30x9.5's perhaps. Which aren't much bigger. Might not need to lift it then even. I do wanna design some bumpers for it, and my friend can build them for me. Since I can't weld... at least not yet. :) Doesn't get stuck? That is what I like to hear. A little trail riding, some access to more remote locations... was ok in the snow as it, with studded snows and weight in the back, not too worried about that. Time to learn to weld! :icon_welder:

I lived in maine, ny for about 9yrs (close to binghamton). Lifting 2wd is nice too, just don't expect it to be as good as a stock 4x4. If you're just going for looks there is nothing wrong with that either. a body lift and some 33's would look nice as your next project?

I don't expect it to be as good as a 4x4, just want it as close as I can get it without losing too much MPG. I realize this is not an easy proposition.
