Pitter-patter, let’s get at ‘er.
Hey guys!
I have finally found my phone long enough to post some picture for you along with a little back story. So this truck has been in my family since the beginning. When I was 5 my grandfather picked me up from my folks and took me out for the day. We ended up going to look at trucks for him because he just bought a cabin in big bear and needed a truck. On that particular day, him and I were both wearing purple matching shirts (hence the purple truck). I’ve been in love with it ever since. I learned to drive in this truck (way too young) haha I’ve stolen this truck while they were on vacation.. haha I also spent many years begging to buy it from him and the answer always being “no”. Unfortunately at the end of 2020 he caught covid and was sent to the hospital. Due to hospital complications and some bad apples he passed away. (That’s for another time, over beers) so naturally my grand mother tried to give this truck away to one of my very much undeserving cousins and that’s when we found out she’s got Alzheimer’s. She’s still with us and doing ok.
Any ways, enough of the fluff lol..

The truck. I call him “Grimace” ya know.. purple… lol it’s fun

1994 Ford Ranger
4.0L engine
2WD

48,381 original miles.
original nearly everything.
Bone stock (for now) other than the wheels and tires. Upgraded from original 14” wheels to 15” with a better set of tires.
I still have the original 14” deer hoof wheels as well.

I hope you enjoy!! Ask as many questions as you like!

Nice truck, and with a great history.

The dash pad looks good, and it doesn't look cracked. If you're having to park it outside, it would be well worth the trouble to get a cheap sun shade and use it to keep the sun off of the interior.

And old trucks LOVE maintenance!

Thank you for showing us your truck. I have to think that your grandfather is looking down, and approves of your taking care of his truck.

Sorry to hear about your grandparent's, but glad to hear you ended up with the truck. What are your plans for it?

Thanks for the good words Robbie. I’d like to think he’s looking down and approves as well.
The dash pad is in great shape. It’s never been garaged EVER in its life. I do use a sunshade most days (when I remember) haha

Thanks JoshT!

I’d like to have some fun with it… I’d like to put a lift on it… either a campershell or a bed rack.. we like to go camping and go off the beat and path. We are big out door people and would love to go mudding in it a little bit (nothing wild) maybe take it trailing… I am obsessed with my truck haha sometimes I just go out side and sit with it lol

+1 Nice looking Ranger, I also have a 1994 4.0l......................RED :)

You can get 1994 Brochure here: https://www.therangerstation.com/articles/ford-ranger-brochures/
There are 2 of them

Good to see what the XLT came with and what were options in 1994

Also take a picture, for yourself, lol, of the Drivers door "Build Label"
It has specific info for just this one Ranger

Then go here: https://www.therangerstation.com/Magazine/Summer2009/federal_sticker.shtml
Ron thank you so much for this information!!!
This is going to come in handy for sure :)

Nice looking truck! glad you are keeping it in the family. and under 50k miles, I think it has been about 23 years since my ranger saw that milestone lol

Yeah I do 100% plan on keeping it in the family. My 13-year-old daughter has been chompin at the bit for me to take her out and let her drive it a little.. So i have been scouting some nice flat off the road places for her to have a little fun in it haha

thats cool that you got your grandpa's ranger. i would have liked to get my grandpa's too, but it probably got sold or one of my cousins that still live in northern cali took it. he had an extended cab higher trim too, with a camper shell, but his was a square nose ranger.

that truck should be good for the rest of your life though. low miles and keeping up the maintenance and stuff
