Pics of my truck/Suggestions for upgrades/mods??

Id get a new tailgate first. Then lower it a few inches. It looks like. Somewhere near syracuse?

Lower it? lol no. Trucks are for lifting :D 2wd? Just needs a good locker, good tires, and determination :headbang: Syracuse is about an hour and 15 minutes west of me. Getting warm!

Holy hellarust batman! But seriously, even those mods you listed will not get you as far as a 4x4. I agree with the philosophy that 2wd's need to either be lowered or left stock. I know from Experience, i tried to wheel my b2300 2wd and always got stuck, no matter what. And plus, a 4/5 drop with some nice wheels would really set that truck off. Have you ever thought about auto x?

Auto X? Only place really rusty is the tailgate. Just surface rust on the doors otherwise. Few dents. Just updated photo album to include pics of moving a picnic table loaded on top of my home-made tonneau cover. It's very strong. Also will give you a some good visual clues as to what area the pics were taken in. :D
And if the truck gets stuck, that's why I plan to have a winch on the front, tow hooks, and a come-a-long. :icon_thumby:

auto x = auto cross

competitive racing on a flat cource basicaly. its alot of fun. i have never attempted to run my ranger but i have run it in a triumph spitfire, a 914, and a miata and it is a serious good time. idk what it would take to get a ranger competitive though, i know it can be done but idk what cost would be

Ohhh, ok. Well I'm in luck then! My mechanic's dad used to race rangers! The shop that rebuilt my engine also does racing engines, and diesels as well. Shop belongs to my mechanic's cousin. lol So I might be able to, my mechanic has helped build a race ranger before. :)

Ah excellent. Yeah, I live in Herkimer. From Newport originally. Work down near Cooperstown. Don't drive the truck usually, the wife does. I drive the 2012 Impreza sport premium... 5-speed manual :D That hill is nasty in the winter. You know the area?

I have been to KOA twice for the sake of camping. Last time I brought my bicycle & rode out to Morrisville & back. I also visited the 2 caves (Howes was one of them & the other had a waterfall) nearby-

You've got a good looking platform to start on. If you want a more off-road look, I'd replace the tailgate, maybe bedline the rocker panels, fender flares, all-terrain tires, maybe a bull bar w/ lights, and I also think bedlining the bed is a good idea. You also might want to swap your wing mirrors for some off of a 2007+. If you got the racing look, then definitely lower it, torneu cover, solid glass rear window, black rims, blacked out lights, and still maybe hit the rocker panels with some bedliner (I just like that look a lot). Whatever you go with, good luck! :icon_thumby:

Yes, lifting it will be fine. I lift my 4x4's and 2wd trucks. You want a winch on the front...mount it right. Here is my 99 2wd Ranger.

I have a front 2 inch receiver hitch and back as well. I added them years back. I bought my 99 Ranger brand new in July of 99 and lifted it the next summer of 2000. I added 33x12.5x15 BFG KO tires and AR polished rims. I am on my second set of BFG tires. I have a Yakima roof rack, fairing and Yakima Basketcase. A spare 33 inch is mounted in the bed with a Westin bed extender I bought new and cut down to fit in the bed with the spare. I have the 4.0 motor and Yukon 4:10 gears and axles. You are on your way to having a nice truck.
