Hey guys... I was needing pics of the mustang 5.0 and expo 5.0 in a ranger for radiator clutch fan clearances.
I will be using a 331 bottom end and I've found out its just easier to use a mustang 5.0 and belt drive acceries to start off because I plan on adding a vortech S-trim blower. I will be using a stock fan shroud and clutch fan. Personal reasons, just don't like electric fans. Thanks for any info or pics

Seen those.. Basicaly trying to find out how much longer to belt drive is on the mustang compared to the expo belt system.

94-95 Stang is close to the Explorer. Fox is the same as anything else with a long WP.

One other really nice thing about the ex is everything just bolts on. I started out with a crown vic belt system, had to remove the alternator to remove the valve cover. To get the pivot bolt off to remove the alternator I had to remove the radiator, to remove the radiator I had to remove the pusher efan and to that I had to pull the grille.

I did that once and decided things had to change. :annoyed:

With the crown vic setup and the a HD Explorer radiator sitting on the stock mounts I had about half an inch between the WP hub and the radiator.

With the Ex I have around 2" IIRC, enough for a low profile flexfan. I tried to get the ex fan clutch in there but the cooling fins on it rubbed on the radiator. Most guys push the radiator into the radiator support... but I do intend to add A/C and didn't want to do that (condenser mounts in front of the radiator)

Here is pics of my Explorer setup if that helps you any.

Don't know how it would lay out with a Vortec but I have no regrets with my Explorer system.

Well.. Just got off the phone with www.damperdudes.net under $200 for a new shipped 50oz expo balencer cut down to 28oz , which is what the 331 kits need.. So plans is to stuck with the exponbelt drive. Thanks. After doing some more research, some brackets can be made possibly to mount the supercharger.
I wanted to use an Eaton M112 but just not enough boost for what I want. Might end of with nitrous on it by the time its all over, one or the other for sure!
Thanks guys for the replies

Might check into the SN-95 setup, the pulley just bolts on the balancer. Whether or not it bolts on a 28oz balancer and lines up correctly or not I don't know.
