pick n pull steering rack exporters

I was at pick n pull 3 months ago and i noticed a big dually truck with the rear just fullllll of steering racks
yesterday i was at pick n pull and noticed all the rangers had missing steering racks
is this a common occurrence? are they shipping them off too steering rack refurbish-ers, or sending them off to south america?
will there be a steering rack shortage in some time?
do steering racks like to fail on rangerS? i know my powersteering suffered a leak for a while and my steering rack boots are torn, but it seems to still be functioning fine.

just wondering.

Your guess is as good as mine. Whatever it is, it probably makes the yard more money to pull them than to wait for someone to come along. Assuming it gets pulled before the truck gets scrapped.
