I have a 1999 Ranger with a 4.0. I am getting a camshaft sensor circut malfunction code. I changed the camshaft sensor, no change. I cleaned all connector pins between the sensor and the computer, no change. I checked the voltage coming out of TWO wire camshaft sensor and at idle its putting out about 5vac and incresess as the rps go up. Im stuck at this point because my wire diagram is for a 3 wire sensor and I dont know what pin/pins the "signal" voltage takes to get the computer. Are there any other sensors or components in the path between the sensor and computer? anyone have a better idea to troubleshoot this? Any help would be great.
