Hello
with all the trouble I am having I am just curious since the plugs have the same amount of pins on each side what happens if you plug them in the wrong way? will a PCM work if missing a plug pin?
You should put this at the end of your existing thread. Making a new thread means you now have lots of opportunity for answers to get crossed, and conclusions and information in one thread may not help the other thread.
Simple answer: The connectors are keyed in one orientation. You cannot plug them in the wrong way without forcing them and breaking things.
The PCM will run fine with "missing pins", as long as the important ones are there. There are many unused pins on the computer: in my '88 there are 4-5 pins that would drive a Tripminder display, if I had one, but it runs just fine with those pins disconnected.
