Have a 2000 mustang 3.8L to stuff into my'93, my question is this is a PATS motor which I don't have, to get this to run without the PATS system? What will I have to change to accomplish this? Thanks in advance everyone!

Just FYI the motor isn't part of PATS, the computer is.
Computer tuners can disable PATS section of the computer or you can get a 3.8l computer from a non-PATS vehicle, which might be better.

Ford Windstar had the 3.8l EEC-V computer from 1995 to 1998 without PATS, it got PATS in '99 model year.
Windstar 3.8l was rated at 200HP
'00 Mustang 3.8l was rated as 190HP
Not sure why that would be?

How are you planning to get the OBDII 3.8L to run in your OBDI truck? Doing a full OBDII swap, or do you have something else planned?

Yes, add rear O2 sensor and update fuel system from 40psi to 65psi
Not sure what would be required for the EVAP system

Also match transmission, automatics are operated by the computer, but if your '93 and the '00 were both manuals then not an issue

Thanks for the input from everyone, more HP is always better, have more interest in most low end torque for pulling loads.
Don't know how complicated the swap would be to go to the obdll set up or getting an aftermarket tuner computer to run the engine. Cost also a factor.
Have a T5 tranny that came with the motor.
I know this swap will be as much as a V8 swap ( that may happen later) looking to be a little different than most. Will post pics, build info as I get into this.

Then you picked the wrong engine.

I know some people see all this "value" in being different, but the reason a lot of people do things the way they do them, and all do them the same way, is because it's proven and works.
