PatoV6´s Ranger - July 07 TOTM UPDATE !!

New TR beadlocks? Nice!

Did you get less backspacing? It looks wider now - maybe not though. Either way, I love it :icon_thumby:

How's the 351 treatin ya?

Hi Bray, everything ok? Sharp eye! now it has 12" TR beadlocks with 39.5 Iroks (i love Iroks!). The 5.8 is working perfectly but I have problems with my AOD...cant go from 1st to 2nd so I bought a prepared valve body to swap. So, we are close to finish this step of the project!!

Did you have to do the body lift to clear the engine or rear suspension, or is it just to keep the COG low? I know its likely very tight to get the multilink under the full steel bed!

Hi. Neither, it was installed years ago to mount 33":icon_rofl: but you are right, is necessary to clear the engine and the transmission.

Hi Bray, everything ok?

So far so good! No more breakage since that one shaft last year.

I did get stopped by the cops last week, and hassled about my bumper height, no fender flares, no mud flaps, etc. He wouldn't let me drive it away unless I got my bumper height down. He did let me air down my tires so my bumpers were low enough to be within regulations. Said if he sees me again he'll have me towed .

So I guess I've got bumper building to look forward to :D. Got another wheelin trip coming up in a couple weeks, and the rest of the summer is lookin to be full of wheelin as well.

Watching your videos almost gives me chills haha. Your rig is NASTY! Go get some pics/vids on some rocks!

not to thread jack, but Bray if you just mount 2 recievers (doesn't matter exactly how big or type ) and mount a piece of 2x3 maybe with some type of mudflap will take care of your legality issues...then pop the pins when ya hit the trails......:D

No shit man. I thought that only happened in South America...not in the USA...Is ridiculous...

It's just as bad up here.....They only care about frame height if they can see it over the car infront of ya, but they are VERY picky about mudflaps. If you do like I do and run BIG flaps, like 4" off the ground and up to the bottom of the body fully covering the tire, I can get away without getting pulled for flares but we'll see how long that lasts.

I don't wanna hijack the thread, but I looked into the bumper height laws after I got stopped. In IL, if you modify the bumper to conform to the height regulations, the officer will then measure to the forward most, and rear most parts of the frame for height. So really its not a bumper height at all.

I had a hitch in the rear, if he had measured to that I would've been 1" under. Bumper was 2" too high. Front has a plastic valence. If he measured to that I would've been 1" under. Bumper was 2" too high.

I've got a rear bumper design in the works that will be a "quick release" drop bumper type. Hopefully they'll measure to that rather than my frame. Still dunno what I'm gonna do with the front. I think I'm gonna slap on some Pacer flares too. It'll make my truck look less agressive, so maybe that'll help avoid future stops.

Yeah airing down was real safe. I'm sure he's never driven a 35" radial at 5psi on the road. Wonder what would've happened if I got in a wreck because of it :D.

Either way, I'm just a ranger on 35's. Its still relatively low. I'm not gonna worry about it too much, but if they wanted to push the issue, I may have problems.

Its almost done. We had some problems with the AOD´s Temp, but is in the way to be solved. Soon, some videos. So far, this light one:

Why switch to D60?

Hi Pato! Truck is more awesome than the last build! I'm wondering why you SASd to the D60 from the GM12-bolt on which you switched the axle-tubes? Did you want a high-pinion? Trying to keep it all Ford?

Thanks!! Is becoming just like I have ever dreamed :headbang: The next step, in order to finish the project, is a new doubler setup (BW1356+NP205).
Last front axle was a Dana 44, but with a V8, 39.5 Iroks and 12" wheels...I´d prefer safety, and Ford HP Dana 60 is the way to go.
