exterior seemed the best catagory.
I have a 98 xlt extend cab. The passenger door takes an effort to open the door. When I first got the truck it wasnt that bad, but over time its getting worse and worse. I dont see any spots where the door is sagging bad enough to scrape the body. The striker catch doesnt even look to be bad. What else couldit be?

Spray some lithium grease in there and see how it feels

white lithium grease was the first thing I tried. I dont see any rust anywhere in the hinge. I open and close that door atleast a dozen times a day.

Do you mean that it is hard to open when the latch is pulled and you gotta sorta bang your shoulder against it to open from the inside? Or is it hard to pull open once it is unlatched?

Two different scenarios...two different lube points...the first involves the latching mechanism and striker in the door...and may need to pop the inside panel off to properly lubricate...the other is definitely hinges...and lubricating them should free it up but may take a few attempts...

I used the lithium grease too, but found spraying things with silicone works as well or better...and is also good for battery terminals...

It feels like the door unlatches just fine, but you have to give it a good pull or push to move or open it at all.:icon_confused:

OK, that's the hinges...either they are sticking or the door is sticking due to sagging...but that is hinge adjustment...

You mentioned there is no visible contact points like scratches on the paint from where it may be rubbing...but stand at the end of the door with it fully opened and try to lift up on the door...if you can see/feel a slight movement then you may need to replace the pins...if you can't then check the bottom hinge...there should be a metal piece that stops the door from swinging closed once it is open...it's just a pressure point and should allow the door to close/open but may be too tight or even broken and jamming...

Mine broke off on the drivers door but it fell out...yours might be stuck in there causing the door to bind...

Other than that...try to get some grease between the wear points on the hinges...
