I pseudo-raced my buddy in his 3.8 Mustang, had him all the way till about 45 (we stopped at the speed limit of 50) I'm also a much more experienced driver than he is, I'm pretty sure he bumped off the rev limiter once, lol... Keeping the 4.0 between 2500-4500rpm and it really likes to scoot...

I appreciate your concern, but It wasn't anything more than if you would have had to get into traffic real quick... Believe me, I keep the real racing at the track...

I was driving home from work tonite, was cruising round 70 mph, on a 2 lane main road, and in front of me was a VW Golf, he was going at a good rate of speed, but im a dum ass...lol so i downshifted to 4th, pulled next to him,he was shocked to see I Wasnt a weed wacker, an slammed it into 5th and started pulling away from him, he started to speed up, almost caught up to me, but my intake is painted red and gave me 30 extra hp., so,not quite, i started pulling away as soon as i was next to him lol I love my 2.9L its a beast!!! ive surprised some people thinking its a tired 70's chevy with blown out mufflers. lol
anyone else want to tell stupid storys of driving like a idiot on the street..

All jokes aside, this is NOT street racing! this is just driving erratic.All this is driving like some stupid smuck.Your truck is not "fast" and a golf is not "fast".
really dose not prove your 2.9 is a beast.All 110 hp to the wheels.what a street racer.....

anyhow, so this thread is not a total waste of bandwidth, what have you dont to your motor to get 185hp out of it? exuast,cone shaped air filter and painted red intake Im not buying for 40 extra hp

real street racing. not this fast and furious crap....nothing if done right. But less and less people seem to have the brains to pull it off.

In all honesty i used to mess around on the street quite a bit. Never was a smart thing but i did it.

But since i got into bikes messing around on the streets a WHOLE new ball game. The bike makes all my previous cars look slow (even my modded 2.2L turboed Dodge and and even my HEAVILY modded F250 Diesel). I just CANT open the bike up safely on the street and its just iresposable (not that opening a car up on the road is responsible maybe i am just getting older LOL).

Anyways long story short i broke down last summer and headed over to the drag strip for a test and tune day. $20 entry and run as many times as ya like all night long.

I have not had that much fun in a LONG time. Hell i even took a Z06 Vette all the way to the 1/8mile before i got passed.

My bike as far as bikes go is SLOW but damn is it ever fun to open em up without worry of a hidden cop or anything but YOU and YOUR RIDE. and as a added bonus you even get prof of your speed and numbers in a time slip.

I KNOW i can get my bike into the 13's if i get better with my launches (If i leave to hard the front end looks to the sky and i gotta back off, if i leave too soft i am just Slow). Right now my best is a 14.332 sec with a .648 reaction time and that was with a first and second gear wheelie.

I also have done some wrenching over the winter and have some to go. Modded intake (removed restrictive snorkle) and threw a drop in filter in. Regeared the bike for quicker take of as i am sitting too low in the RPMS across the line so i can afford to lower go with a 14tooth front sprocket. and i still want to get a complete exhuast but no money yet. and once the exhuast is done i will need to get it re tuned.

all in all i am hoping to see a 5hp increase (had it dynoed too before 60.01hp 39.9lbs/tq at the wheel).

This summer me and a few guys from work are gona take our trucks down too should be fun i will undoubtly be slowest

Here a cop could pull you over for what is called "A display of speed"! I'm sure a lot did things like that and lived thru it but 'sooner or later'.
