Here a cop could pull you over for what is called "A display of speed"! I'm sure a lot did things like that and lived thru it but 'sooner or later'.

Back in high school (in Nebraska) they would get us for "exhibition of acceleration", meaning burnouts, or just plain romping on it, depending on how strict the cop wanted to be. I was lucky enough to never get caught, but know a few kids who did.

besides the speeding it was illegal for the driver of the golf to accelerate while being passed. I hate it when they do that. pull out to pass somebody on a 2 lane in a big rig @ 70 mph and they speed up and hold you in the oncoming lane.

I hate it when people are in the right lane and it's ending and they speed way up to pass like 4 or 5 cars and then expect whoever they just passed to let them in...

One time when testing the new gearing combo on the Bandit I came up on a 5.0 stang with a vortech sticker along the top of his window. I don't know if he had a supercharger or not but if he did it didn't help much. I got a car length on him off the line and it turned into a hundred feet by the top of second. He looked pissed since he obviously didn't know what a bike would do to that poor car.

those are the people i dont let in. and then they get pissed when the lane ends and they cant get over.

when i was driving my chevy a few months ago some guy in a chevy mini suv thing was infront of me doing 40 in a 50. i got impatient and was tapping the gas to the music on the radio out of boredom. he seen that and thought i was trying being an asshole and slowed down to 25 and i went to pass him. he sped up and i pounded the gas i hit like 70before i could get past him. i hate nj drivers. dont get me started with people on roundabouts. theres 2 lanes not one

All jokes aside, this is NOT street racing! this is just driving erratic.All this is driving like some stupid smuck.Your truck is not "fast" and a golf is not "fast".
really dose not prove your 2.9 is a beast.All 110 hp to the wheels.what a street racer.....

anyhow, so this thread is not a total waste of bandwidth, what have you dont to your motor to get 185hp out of it? exuast,cone shaped air filter and painted red intake Im not buying for 40 extra hp

stock 2.9L's have 140 hp, 2.3's have 110, get ur facts right, and im just glad it runs great, hence why i called it a "beast" i never called my truck fast either......

You gotta look out for those daredevil kids that run out into 65 MPH traffic you know. I would have done the same thing you did, just take this as a lesson of who not to tell this type of story to.

Dude, the 2.9 makes 140 hp @ the crank. Be lucky to see 110 @ the wheels. very lucky in a 20 y/o truck. But yea, I love my little 2.9. no questions there.
