i have a 91 ranger, i want to paint it in the future. i have helped my grandfather paint cars before but that was 10 yrs ago. how do you know when to where a suit or can u use a mask and just long sleeves like my grandps use to. I need some input on painting protection.:icon_confused:

Personally, I'd go full boat on protection. Paint isn't something I'd mess with when it comes to getting it on skin, especially in yer lungs. Full respirator gear for sure. You see some people on TV with little or nothing for protection but I wonder how much gray stuff has leaked out their ears over the years......

Now if ya want to try somethin new, PPG has come out with a water based paint system. Since it's not like what we've painted with in the past you could probably get by with the mask.

x2 especially if you go with urethane paint. That stuff is horribly toxic and a real mess to deal with from what I've heard.
