Overdrive not working

Anybody know why overdrive would fail to work? It used to work when I first got the truck. I had some pretty bad oil issues at one point and took it into a shop that I later figured out was pretty sketchy. Anyways, they fixed my oil leaks, but my OD never worked after that... I've tried to search for info on OD but I haven't found anything pertaining to my motor / tranny.

Sorry this is such a general question but I don't even know where to start troubleshooting.

Truck is an 88 ranger 2.3L automatic
