Just got finished installing my 92 explorer 8.8 with a Detroit locker and 4.56's in my ranger. I decided to go with an outboard shock set up to help control body roll. I made my lower shock mount on top of the spring plate using some 1/4" plate. My upper mounts are built from 1/8" tube and 3/16" plate. The shock hoops are welded to the box floor and are gusseted to the inner fenders. Heres some pics of how I set it up.

The Shocks are Procomp ES3000's 14" travel 34" fully extended

Well, the shocks are now 10 - 12" further outboard than stock. Its quite a bit different, handles much nicer, it still has body roll, but no where near as much as it did. I used to scare my neighbors when I turned onto the street at 50km/hr

I reworked an existing bushbox that was off of a long box S10, bobbed it, reinforced it and redid the fender tubs to clear the 36's

About $700 bucks for the Detroit, master install kit, and crush sleeve eliminator kit. The gears are out of my old 8.8. The rest was just time and fab work, had the metal kicking around and the shocks were in the truck before just mounted differently.

Lookin good! Just curious, how does a detroit behave compared to a lock-right, I've considered stepping up to a detroit if/when I go 8.8.

The detroit is soo much better than a lockright. It corners just as well, if not better, without any of the noise.

Sasquatch_Ryda do you hang on the CrawlinBC forums? They are having a "event" Rocking the CRIB , on June 6th and 7th at Missazuleh Lake down by Princeton. I need a fellow Ranger operator to play with the bigger boys as mine is just a trail truck. http://www.crawlinbc.com/
