Many years ago, I was riding with my brother late one night and a bunch of deer ran across the road. We hit one with the bumper and several others just plowed into the side of his Dakota. The dead one tasted delicious.

Several days later, his buddies at work cut a thin slice off a piece of stainless steel pipe and welded some cross-hairs to it and taped it to his windshield. They're a funny bunch.

Previous trip out to farm, I saw the deer coming out of the ditch at last second, so mashed the throttle on my F-150 - there were hairs in the trim around the rear wheel and between bumper and its cover but no dent in truck from the contact. BiL was sitting in passenger seat and didn't see the deer or know we hit it.

When I hit the deer with my '78 Omni, they wrote off the car - Bent hood, collapsed fender and removed driver's mirror. Bought it back, installed new fender and drove it for another year...

A neighbour wrote off a brand new Expedition after hitting a local mule deer - sort of collapsed the A-pillar, buckled the roof, bent both passenger's doors. But the grill guard was still just fine.

Some y'all should come up here - 21 deer between town and in-laws farm. Couple whitetail bucks will unreal racks - at least 12 points.

I just avoided putting 100+ lbs of venison on Ranger's grill 3 or 4 times..
