Option I never knew existed, has anyone ever actually seen it?

There was a video on motor week that touched on the ones I spoke of. Go to archive section and put in bronco II 80's . Also if you go online there are dealer installed buggy top installed versions. Also Mexico Baja series. As a lot of people also used to say that fomoco didn't make 1970's Escorts but majestically they're also for sale starting at 10-80,000 and up. The internet is amazing for searching out such things 👍🤘 all good things friend.

Yes they did offer power mirrors but most people didn't want them due to cost.so thats why you don't really ever see them. Just as there was 3 versions of body types for bronc 2's.they offered a rear side glass only removable and another was like full size roof removable and roll bars. And as most of us the xl,xlt, and Eddie xlt.
Never seen the power mirrors yet. Sounds like a unicorn to me.

Body was the same for the removeable side glass, but IIRC, it was only like two years that was a thing. I haven’t seen it yet but I did come across someone who had one. Said it leaked… bad.

The removeable top was the Sherrod edition. Ford built it and sent it to a custom shop that turned those out. Same goes for the Plus which was a camper version. Custom shop work. But it was a dealer option.

Yeah thats what I was talking about. Ford did the preliminary work and sent to local dealers to forward to a custom finnish shop. Then to customers. But essentially they were factory built.

Just not at a Ford factory.

A guy on here just found a BII with the removable side windows and ended the 20 year TRS debate if Ford actually ever sold them to the public. IIRC it was a early custom ordered truck.

HELLOOO! DID I NOT SAY THAT THEY DID EXISTED.? SAME AS THE REMOVABLE REAR TOPS. I've done a Very deep dig through internet and Fomoco, to find if the info that everyone so calls puts out is real. I've even seen two or (maybe) 3 on a bII sale site. I'm by no means calling anyone a liar or anything just trying to put out good stuff. Not trying to pass anyone off👍👍

Easy killer. There have been many discussions on factory options on here and there are a surprising number that supposedly exist, but we have never had actual confirmation. Removeable tops were a custom shop deal, ergo a dealer option not necessarily a factory option. Many big dealerships strike deals to have custom options that are not something offered by Ford.

Oh where are my manners ? I'm #Brumbey! Oh no I didn't mean to send off the wrong message about this. I wasn't getting offended or trying to offend anyone. I was just was agreeing with you on the fact that there were actually some out there that did actually have removeable rears. But that like alot of manufacturers they contract them out due to low orders and high overhead cost. Hopefully we can still get on with lots more great conversations 👌

Ok as in one of my earlier post to your inquiry about power mirrors heres the so to they did exist but 1st generation bids had availability for them but were not widely known about or asked for or offered at every dealership. So hopefully this will help shed out alot of the darkness out ther on this subject. 👍👌🤘

This is a web forum, it's designed for debate, don't take it personally. I can find the info on the mirrors in an owners manual also, I have several of them, for most years of Ranger and RBV. I was wondering if anyone had seen the actual option with their own eyes. over the years I have owned well over 20 RBVs and currently own 8 of them, I've seen most every option available with my own eyes, except for this one and the opening side glass in the B2, it's more a curiosity than anything else. I know that the aftermarket can install pretty much everything the factory didn't offer, I work on ford chassis buses as a day job and I'm familiar with most of the terrifyingly bad upfit jobs that are done on them.
