In the process of repairing and rerouting some power window and lock wiring on my 86 I noticed some extra wires in the harness that goes across the radiator support that appear to go to power mirrors. I can find wiring diagrams for them but I've never seen them and a google search shows no info or parts at all. The wiring harness for them is out of an 88 Bronco II and it shows that it was an option from 87 to 89 rangers and b2s. I have no interest in adding them or anything, just curious is all.

Never heard of them in a first Gen.

Every first or second gen I ever saw either had the little flag mirrors or the swing lock. Even the Eddie Bauer ones, which I’ve owned two of, which you would think would be the likely candidates for something like that. Makes me curious if either of my Bronco IIs have that wiring. Let me know exactly what I’m looking for.

I see it in my 88 EVTM.

What leads you to think the wiring is for power mirrors? Colors? 12v when switch is on?

Maybe heated mirrors?

I don't have an EVTM but Mitchell shows me a wiring diagram for it

Wires aren't hooked to anything but the 4 wires present in the harness match up with power and the control wires for the passenger side mirror.
Maybe heated mirrors?
nope, although if I could get heated mirror heads they would have been installed already, haha.

Yes they did offer power mirrors but most people didn't want them due to cost.so thats why you don't really ever see them. Just as there was 3 versions of body types for bronc 2's.they offered a rear side glass only removable and another was like full size roof removable and roll bars. And as most of us the xl,xlt, and Eddie xlt.

Really only one BII bodystyle.

Only one with removable side windows is known to have made it into civilian hands and a removable top BII never happened from the factory.

I have seen every other first Gen do-dad... never power mirrors.

Have seen only (one) power mirror example before in the fomoco brochure.
