opinions tune up price

I'm not calling anyone a liar, just speaking from personal experience. I have done enough brake jobs and steering work with complete fluid changes to say that it has never made a bit of difference in the 12 vehicles I have owned and countless others I have worked on. My brake fluid from 1985 stops my truck just as well as the brand new stuff.

86 thousand miles and you are changing the PVC valve?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was always under the impression as long as there is no blow by, and you maintain your oil, the PVC valve is good until the engine needs rebuilt.

Probably the same thinking of the guy who had my truck. 182,000 miles it still has the original PCV valve. I replaced it at 182k. I don't know the correct intervals for them but I have it replaced every once in awhile.

A large part of any service is the labour cost.

You could price out the cost of the parts/fluids, and you will see that it will come out to a lot less than the overall dealer prices that are quoted for the services you are thinking about.

Having said that, be aware that any dealership/mechanic has all sorts of overhead/shop costs to cover, and the rates quoted are not really out of line, in my opinion.

It would probably be in your best interest to learn how to do some of the basic service stuff yourself - you'll not only save a lot of money, you'll also have the satisfaction of doing work on your vehicle yourself.

BTW, just post any questions you might have about "how to" or procedures - as you no doubt know, members are more than happy to help you out and share their experiences.
