Whats your opinion on the better truck?

90 B2 Ed B Auto with Man 4x4 hubs, 1/90 build date so should have the D35, fair shape rust wise and needs some work, exhaust, brakes, etc. 60k on a newly swapped 2.9 from a ranger...

OR ---VS.

88 B2 XLT Manual, D code, so no M5OD trans...bout 110k, auto hubs, great body and frame no rust, needs a good amount of mechanical of work, brakes, rotors all around, exhaust, interior beat, prob valve cover gaskets..about 200 less in price

either one will be getting a 2 inch S lift and new 30x10.5 or 9.5 at some point...

Depends where you are. Rust eats everything here, mechanical parts can be changed but rust free bodies don't exist, only the degree of rust varies.

I'm not a an of A4LD's (the auto in the 90) but for a D35 over a D28, manual lockouts vs auto, and a better body, the 90 sounds like a solid choice. Save yourself $200 to put $200+ into the 88 makes very little sense in my opinion. Good Luck and look forward to seeing you back in the seat of a B2 soon!

The 90 because I would put a 4.0 and manual in.Then you would have a nice little B2 A 35 would be nice too.

I would prolly go with the B2, the only reason i would have to go with the 88 would be that it still has the 1st gen front end which i prefer.

That means the 90 has the manual 1354 too, Hands down, the 90

i am leaning 90, although the rust free-ness of the 88 is huge, also I understand the M5OD trans swap into the 88 would be easy, but then i guess i'd have to spring for the man hubs to complete the upgrade, if the interior of the 88 was a little better it probably would help now its just another repair...

Or you can buy my fullsize 1990 bronco with a 300 straight 6 with 5 speend manual trans in it for $2000 obo. :)

ha thanks- was lookin at a full size 84 bronco, but sticking with the B2 for now ....so it's the 88 for $550 or the 90 for $750, wish I could do both but one project at a time right??

I'd get both. :D

If I had to choose, I'd get the '88, simply because I like the 1st gen front end better. Then start hunting for an M5OD for when the transmission that's in it starts to make noise (and it will).

Ok , ran a car fax on Both b2s and discovered the 88 has about 208k miles on it, the owner told me it was 108k, maybe mistakenly she seems unsure of the history, and says her title shows lower miles?.........who knows if the engine or trans were ever rebuilt, on the other hand I knew the 90 had high miles probably close to 200k, but also know the 90 has swapped 2.9 that only has 60k on it......still surprised the 88 has such a good body with that high miles
