I was talking with a guy tonight that has a 98 2wd 3.0 driveshaft that is one piece setup and will sell it for a decent price...will it by chance fit my 2.3 2wd with a swap of the yoke and all that good stuff?its a full aluminum driveshaft and hoping everything would bolt up well..thanks

The wheel base on reg cabs was increased a few inches in 98...so there is a length issue.

Manual trans trucks have a 2-3" longer shaft than Autos too.

If your truck and the 98 are super cabs and both auto or both manual then your golden.

both are manuals and are super cabs...this is the best news of the week lol haha.. splines and everything should all be the same too? and also i did alittle research awhile back and i know i gotta take out the brace that holds the center support but is there any other mods i need to do when installing it? :icon_welder:thanks for all your input....

The splines are the same. You will need to remove the carrier bearing mount and maybe the move the whole cross member forward a few inches to clear the shaft especially since its such a large diameter. Punch out the rivets and move the cross member up so the rear holes of the cross member are lined up with the front hole in the frame. Bolt it there and drill the two front holes.

If you plan on lowering the truck, stick with the 2 piece since they clear the cab better.
