One of these is not like the others

= fail

So, got my heads back from being decked, threw the transmission back on (I had to tend to the choked off breather line, figured while the heads where off and I could get to the trans bolts, now was a good time) then thew the engine back together and fired it up.

It ran, with a once/revolution hitting noise and a backfire noise.
ARRGGGGGH. :temper: (nomally I kindof expect something to go wrong, so when something is wrong i stay chill about it, but this time, not so much, wrenches flew.)
I think that I must not have a pushroad seated on it's cam lifter. Havn't got to tear into it since it fired up. I had to jet right after, and today after work I came home and fell in a pile until now, and Im' going back to sleep.

So, I wouldn't be surprised if I pull off some valve covers/rockers and find a bent pushrod. Hope the engine shop in town has some singles kicking around..... :nopityA:

I reused head bolts on my Prizm when it blew its head gasket (after checking with the machinist that they were NOT TTY). And on the Chevy when I had its head done.

But never on an RBV.

Will, they all have angular torque specs. THAT'S what gives you the better clamping force. The TTY thing functions as a limit as well (you won't get more than the tensile strength of the bolt as clamping force). But angular specs alone do not indicate TTY.
