Thank you very much for dropping in and offering up that piece of information. You are 100% correct! I have the wrong ECM installed. I am not sure how it got switched as I was very careful to keep the 99 Ranger ECM away from my work area. I went back and went through several early photos that clearly showed the HCL4 installed in the 99 Ranger before I started pulling it apart. I then went to check my drawer where I keep my back up ECM (a EQE3). There should have been the 99 Ranger ECM and my new back up, a EQE3. Wouldn't you know there was two EQE3's in the drawer. How that happened I will never know.

I had Greg at Speedy Dyno write me a tune and he is ready to send me a revised tune to correct the codes. I will let him know that I also need the tune adjusted to accommodate the correct ECM.

I do have the back up tune you did for me but it is set up for my second SCT tuner which is now married to my wife's 07 Mustang GT.

Thanks again for everything. I PM'ed you the SCT Serial number. The ECM is the EQE3.
 
Check your email. I originally wrote the tune to have a performance shifting auto, so if you would have had the correct ecu installed, you still would have gotten the trans codes. I took care of that on the revised tune I sent you...

I got my PC updated with the SCT software and everything looks good. But it wont locate your custom tune when I select the browse function. Is there another format for the tune you e-mailed to me? It looks like a MTF file format.

Ok, now we are back in business! Thanks to RangerSVT for identifying the problem. I now have the proper ECM and tune installed and the truck runs much better. I uploaded a short video and I think you all will agree, "It runs much better with a V8 ECM!" I feel a little stupid right now but we are all friends right?

Sounds good, are you gonna run a x or h pipe? maybe lightning style exhaust or tails out the back?

I am going with mandrel bent 2 1/2 inch, no cats, removable mid pipe with a "x" cross over into Flowmaster 44's and the out the back. I hope to keep a 17 inch space saver spare in the OE location but will sacrifice it if needed to get the exit the way I want.
 
I always wanted to retro fit a foxbody V8 exhaust to a V8 ranger, make a ranger sound like a mustang...
