One more 2wd 98 coil spring 5.0 swap.

Im interested to know if the 13" cobra brake rotors would fit my 4x4 sport trac spindles. Looking good!

I might have a junk spare laying around. I will look tomorrow and if I still have one I can mail it to you. I am not sure if I junked the stockers off my 03 Cobra or tucked them away.

Ive spent the last 3hrs reading and looking at every picture and comment, I can smell the gear oil and and hearing this engine, run im abt a month away from starting the build on my truck, except im not gona use fuel injection, im going with a late 70s 302 that will be carburetorated, with a 5sod Manuel, tho im not gona rip the whole truck apart like u did, injust gona do engine trans and fuel tank this gona be relocated to behind the cab on the frame so I can run the exhaust out each side this truck will be a prerunner truck

Thank you for taking the time to read the thread. Reading the replies such as yours is what has kept this project moving forward over the past four years. Many times I have lost my enthusiasm and slowed to a snails pace. But I always managed to find my way back and pick up where I left off.

Good luck with your build. If it is the first V8 Ranger you have done you are going to love it. You will enjoy driving it and the added power the big motor brings.

yeah, the only reason im doing this now is cuz my 2.5 spun a bearing

I burned a valve in my 98 2.5 back in October at 311,000 miles. The bottom end wasn't strong enough to handle a fresh head so I ended up driving to North Carolina to purchase a brand new 2.5 engine assembly from a forum member. It worked out great and I now have about 40,000 miles on the new motor.

Mine had 202k, and I had been having some clutch solenoid problems, and when I got the hey one day my truck went into limp mode and I was accelerating at the same time and I didnt know it was going until my check engine was flashing and it was to late I could smell the burn oil and the engine was seriously misfiring I drove it another 20miles which was home so I got it home

Nip, if you actually use it as a prerunner, you will enjoy the better throttle response of EFI. Either way, make sure you do a build thread :icon_thumby:
