Im having trouble deciding on which to do. i was looking at , since space is a major issue in a reg cab, i was looking at one 8" jbl gto sub since its capable of 1000 watts but reguires quite a bit of mounting depth. my idea was to make a tube enclosure and build it to optimum sealed enclosure specs. the other is to buy two 10" boss subs, just regular 200 watt rms subs that are pretty shallow. i dont wanna rattle the neighborhood, just some tight clean bass, but pretty loud.im pretty handy with mdf but not so with fiber glass, so it would either be mdf or some sort of composite material( if I go with the bass tube. i have the rest of the system covered with 3 way pionneers front and back and four seperate power acoustik tweets mounted for optimum sound direction. just some input with somebody thats done a standard cab would be good, mine in particular is a 98. thanks guys.

I had a single shallow DVC Kicker 10" in mine, in a shallow kicker box, purchased as a loaded assembly. It fit perfectly behind my PS seat with 1.5" of clearance between the seat. I had it powered with a 1600w Power Acoustik amp. All reasonably priced stuff, and with a little tweaking from the remote gain knob played classic country, metal, hip-hop, and dubstep. It was clear and clean, yet would shake the mirrors so bad they were useless when desired.

I had a kicker 10" cvt pre-loaded box but didnt like it. just wanna do somethin a lil different

haha, i dont think thats possible for me right now. its either gonna be 4 8" re's or 2 10" re's. id love to have some DD audio sw6.5 cuz those are some badass lil woffers, but they aint cheap.

mine to. audioenhancers builds a pair of boxes for ford standard cab rangers at 70 bucks a pair, but if i build my own it'll basically just be a big rectangle, easy enough to build, and no carpeting, leftover rhino liner!!! haha

A 10 will give you an over all better sound range. Kicker makes a super slim box with a cvt just for this.

Ive had a actory made kicker 10" cvt and a factory made pioneer 12" shallow mount and they still both just slightly made the seat extend forward. im on the edge of 6"4 so i dont want to loose any seat clearance, that why im looking into either some kind of bass tubes or my own enclosure. DD makes some badass 6" subs but there like 250 apiece. I could buy 4 8"s or 2 10"s for that price. ive found a site that sells unloaded carpeted bass tubes for like 24 bucks each in 8" and 10". might get two of those and some high output eights and put the amp under the passenger seat. theres just so many options, just tryin to stay under a 300 dollar budget. already have a 500.2 amp and also a 1000.1 so just goin through the options right now and just want somethin different. thanks for all the input guys.

Hook up marine speakers in your fender wells above the tires, I saw something like that the other day on a tahoe and it was a really clean sound and it was loud at barely 13, but that guy has extremely lined pockets so that might be out a 9-5 joes cash range, I wanna look into, but I don't have the mud covers in the front

6inch PVC. With an end cap. Maybe a "tee" to tune the port volume wrap the whine thing in dynamat........ Just saying... It be different

well i looked into the pre-made ported tubes and they are only .51 cu ft. That isnt enough for any woofer im aware of. so ive looked and looked and came to the conclusion that 1 10" dvc sub should she enough, couple years back i had a jl 10 w1v1 in my 96 mazda b2300 and it hammered nicely. and these mtx thunderforms are awesome but expensive but they gave me the idea to make my own. desighn a box with the sub pokin right in the middle of the seats and make an extended part of the box behind the passenger seat that dosent interfere with passeneger comfort either. so there lies the basis, now just down to the sub and the cuttin gluein and screwin for the box.

Hey, we have a ThunderForm subwoofer system for your truck that may be a good solution for you. It sounds like just the right amount of bass for you and its a complete system that is designed to perfectly fit with the contours of your trucks interior. It's a single 10" woofer that installed behind the driver's seat with no loss of leg room.

thanks for the link, but as i have already mentioned, the thunderforms are awesome, but are a little outta my price range. id love to have an unloaded thunderform,as they are perfect and make use of space you wont get with an mdf enclosure, just a little to expensive at the moment, but thanks anyways man, i apppreciate all comments and info.
