Hey guys. I have a question for you. I have a 2002 Edge 4x4 and when wheeling in Florida it's not uncommon to have to go through deep water and mud/water. I was reviewing different home made snorkel mods including the one where the guy brought it from the airbox through the inside fender then back through to the engine compartment and into the cowl.
I am not sure what year his truck was. My question is...on 2002 Rangers do they have the other air intake on the inside fender also? From what I can tell after opening it up today it looks like the only intake is the "snorkel" behind the right headlight. Is this correct or is there one also on the inside fender? If there is one, I can not see where or how it'd get to the inside fender, thereby making me think I only have the one up front behind the light.
If this is the case, I'll have to figure out how to mod up a snorkel from the stock box but there isn't much room in there at all.
Has anyone come up with an idea to shield the water from coming up from underneath yet? If so, is the air intake still pulling plenty of air?
Thanks for all your help.
