i have talked to a couple of people about front lowering springs. i am on a budget and may not be able to afford djm or belltech right now. Has anyone ever use chassic tech components. Front lowering springs and rear flip kit.

I have a 2"/4" drop and it cost me $140 to lower it. I have a flip kit that wat $67 from Summit Racing and Nissan Hardbody rear shocks which were $32. Then I have cut coils up front and I had to buy some +/- 3.5 degree bushings which were $40. Some people dont believe in cut coils which is why I will probably get yelled at by someone.

It's not that we don't "believe in them", it's that it can cause more problems then it's worth. The coils are designed to be a certain length long and when you alter that the results can be less then ideal. It's the same amount of work to cut them as it is to just install new ones that are designed to be 2" shorter. Coils are cheap, but I understand being tight on money. If you are going to cut your coils, you must use a cut off wheel. You do not want heat to build up in the coil that will cause the spring to loose tension. Then getting both sides the same becomes almost impossible. Also, you can cut up to 1/2 a coil with little change in spring rate and that should net around 1" of drop. Never cut more then a 1/4 coil at a time though, you should install them and give them time to settle before cutting more. These are all "rules" I've read about over the years and I plan to follow them because they have come from different sources and pretty much say the same things.

Ok, I've got a question about thriftiness in the back: I too am on a budget and instead of opting for a DJM kit, I was wondering:

1. DJM 2" springs up front
2. Summit flip clips (and most likely new U-bolts)
3. blocks between the axle and leaf springs to adjust the rear height.

I'm not sure if my measurments are correct but I was wondering about the theory of 'Axle/Blocks/Springs' vs. 'Axle/Springs/Hangars'.

Belltech coils for an Ibeamer is the best way to go or DJM beams. If you only go 2 inches in the front flip your rear hangers for the rear. http://www.illusivefabrications.com...file=product_info&cPath=21_38&products_id=216

As for the 98+ DJM is the way to go.DJM is the best belltech is second best but is kinda pricy.

Chassis tech has alot of junk products a couple are ok but its hit or miss. I know they sold the company to some of there employees and have been trying to improve the customer service but I still don't think they or there products are at a point where I tould trust them on my vehicles.
