I've came across a omc cast iron intake for a 2.3 marine application. I've done a search on here and heard of a few ppl using them. I know it has the d shaped ports and my 87 2.0 has round ports and ive read of this causing fuel pooling but other than that would this be a good option for me to use on my 2.0 until my 2.3 head is ready I want to use this after the head swap too I've read that it flows really good. And it looks to have a chevrolet rochester base? If so I've got a few of them layin around and ive had good luck rebuilding and tuning on them. I guess my question is would this b an easy bolt on swap aside from throttle cable and vacuum line modifications its my daily driver and the 1 barrel has gave me nothing but trouble the past while I really wanna simplify things and get it back on the road soon

I think it was Kenny S that ended up using one of those intakes...he seemed happy with the results but I haven't heard from him on here for a while...

At one point I used a D-port intake with the 2.0 O port head and didn't have a problem with it...other than the flooding problem I was having due to the float and needle issues...

you could try overlaying the gasket on the O-port head to see how much of a lip there would be if any...I can't remember that far back but I think the bottom of the D-port was actually high enough that the bottom of the O-port was below it so there wasn't an actual lip to allow fuel pooling...

It will work while your D-port head is rebuilt if you want to try it or must swap it out due to carb or other issues...

Edit: It was actually Kenneth S and you can search his posts to have a look at some pics he posted...here is one where he mentions the OMC intake

Thanks for the info good idea on putting the gasket up to it to check ill probably give it a try in the next week or so gotta round up all my rochestor parts and see if I can piece one togethor what would b a good jet size to start with I've got anywhere from a 40 up to a 60. Also what year 2.3 had the factory header I seen a few late model 2.3s at pullapart when I got my head last week

93 and up had the shorty header...same as the Mazda series 2300's...mine came from 94 Mazda...direct bolt-on...but I had to buy some new bolts because the ones on the Mazda snapped off...surprised they were so brittle...
