Ok guys, i really need help on this

if thats the only way you can get the pumps to run with that jumper wire, the fusible link for the pumps may have burned up. the two large terminals are for the pumps, the smaller ones are to turn the relay on and off.

Almost sounds like a throttle position sensor, Make sure every wire on your upper engine harness is plugged in, those will get you every time. Even if you missed a temp sensor and forgot to plug it in, it'll confuse the shit out of your computer

pull codes before you start throwing money out the window.

Welp, i'm going to do some work on the truck tomorrow, i finally managed to get a half day off work. I'm going to check over the grounds, clean the plugs, check the distributor cap and the rotor, i might just replace both. Hopefully summit racing will send me my plug wires soon so i can replace those too. I got my y-pipe thanks to snoopdoggie and i'm going to make a custom flange for that so i can run a single exhaust and only 1 cat with my cherry bomb and the rest of my smash proof exhaust. If none of that solves my problems i'm going to pull codes. I know my cats are really old, especially the front cat. I will update this soon.

I checked my fuel pressure at the fuel rail. It checked out so i know my fuel pumps are working fine other than the ghetto jumper setup i have at the moment. I changed the plugs, they were really fouled. I put in a good set of NGK plugs. I advanced the timing and it seemed to help alot but it still sputters and loads up a bit. Not as bad as before but now the plugs are starting to foul out again. Should i advance my timing some more? Or back it off some? I have a new set of taylor 8.5mm plug wires on the way from summit. :icon_confused: Help me please

That is what ended up being my problem was some of the plug wires or something were burnt or loose so when you go up a hill the engine shifts more than normal because it has to work harder to pull your truck up the hill. I have a huge hill... more like 3 huge hills that I have to go up to go to town or back home, so when it did exactly what you were describing it would only be on the hills not on flat sections or anything, I have a carbed 2.8L so fuel was not the issue the plugs/wires were loose or getting close to something that could cause a ground.

Good Luck:icon_thumby:
