Oil pressure issue

My truck was broke down for around 6 weeks. I got the problems fixed that were giving my trouble. Now over the last few days it seems like the oil need to get warm before my oil pressure drops. I on the high side 45 to 50 psi. It is staying around there until is warms up the oil. It seems like the oil pressure relief valve is sticking. I am going to get something at the auto parts store on the way home do dump in the crankcase to clean out the gunk. I have some seafoam that I could use? Dropping the pan sounds like a real PIA?

Are you using the stock gauge, or an aftermarket gauge?

being that the stock gauge doesnt have number...im assuming aftermarket.

but 45-50 psi is perfectly normal...especially on cold oil. theres nothing wrong with your truck.

Is engine oil pressure related to vacuum? I did some work on my truck and this issue started after that. I had egr issues as well as a bad FPR. I fixed all that and thats when my oil pressure changed. It used to warm up and the water temp and oil pressure moved together. Now the truck warms up on the temp gage and the low side of my oil pressure drops slower down to 20 psi than it used to. My high side stayed the same.

No, it's not vacuum related. Oil pumps make volume, the pressure is the resistence of the volume it's making.

Maybe the fact that it's idling different is causing what you're seeing? Can't quite wrap my head around "It used to warm up and the water temp and oil pressure moved together. It just seemed like before the oil pressure would drop faster? No big deal as that the high side is good? It just kida freaked me out?

As long as you have oil pressure, and it doesn't fall to 0, you have no worries.

If it is slow rising, is erratic moving up and down, is stable when cold, and drops to nothing when the engine warms up, you have a problem.

The time it takes to fall to a lower pressure as the engine warms up is irrelevant.shady

I picked up the truck in LA a few years ago. I was driving out around 50 miles out of Palmdale on the way back to Nevada and my oil presssure was almost 0 psi. I pulled of in Personville and checked everything. Nothing wrong and oil level was good. Drove it home and junked the factory gage? Oil pressure is always good.
