I have a 94 2wd Ranger! 356k. Recently, oil pressure gage fluctuates when running. Still in safe range but cause for concern. I am going to put in a new sender which I have. If this doesn't solve the problem, what should be my next step?

Check the actual oil pressure using the hole where the switch/sender goes.

If it only flickers at idle, the idle itself may be too low. Clean the IAC and disconnect the battery, then turn on the headlights. Reconnect the battery and let it (relearn its)idle. 4 or 5 minutes should do it.

I'm impressed with your 356k! Keep on truckin'!

It's just a dummy gauge, anything above 5psi and it's normal, less and it's zero, so probably the sender

Yeah, your biggest cause for concern from anything seen on that gauge is if it reads normal all the time but drops off when you start off from a stop. Then you have major oiling issues.

No, it doesn't do that. I'll just be riding along watching it go from just below the H down to the halfway mark. It is one of those things that drive you nuts as your tooling along.
