So i got my duraspark and holley set up in and so far so good. I just need to set my timing and it should be cool. Now i got another question, My oil dipstick is leaking spewing oil when the engine is running, i checked the oil and it looks to be at a normal level... Any ideas? also while i'm at it i should ask: has anybody ever had their marker lights just give out? dash and all? My headlights still work but no go on the marker lights. What gives? Once again all your help is appreciated. :dntknw:

Check PVC valve, oil filler cap/breather too. If at the base, maybe the tube is not seated properly- push back in.

Check fuses for electrical.

Does the oil filler cap have to be the breather type? I have a cap on there that is pretty much airtight.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it needs to be. Especially if you have the pvc valve hooked up, because thats where the air enter the crankcase. If oil is "spewing " out of the dipstick tube it could be because you have the crankcase sealed and there is no where for the pressure to go. You are going to get some blow by and normal heat expansion of the oil and engine.

About the electrical, it is mostly a fuse. Should be a 10 amp.

ok

I see, well i dont know if my fuse panel was moved somewhere but i cant find it! Also how do those 31x10.5x15 work for you? i want to fit some the same size on my ranger with a 3" body lift

Fuse panel should be on the driver's side under the wheel. On mine there are two black plastic knobs you have to turn. Should be about same place on your's.

the 31's work great. Idon't think I have any lift and the only rub is on the driver side and all it's was just a piece of plastic trim that was out of place. They give me about 9" of ground clearance under the rear axle chunk. I'll post some pic when I figure out how to do it.

Under the wheel well? Interior? i looked left and right up and down. Nothing but a rats nest of wires from an old alarm system that no longer needs to be there. Pics of the tires woul be great. I hope i wont have any problems fitting 10.5's on a the rims i have. currently it has bald 30x9.5 tires. the poor truck was neglected quite a bit but I have come to its aid! With all of you guys' help of course. :icon_welder:

Under the steering wheel. Metal panel. I figured out how to post pics so I"ll post some later today. How did the duraspark work out? Did you notice any increased preformance? I'm planning on doing mine a soon as I can get the parts. Mostly to get rid of all the emissions crap and computer. I've read that it helps on mpg and preformance, not to mention easier to work on.

Duraspark worked pretty good. it seems alot easier to deal with. as far as performance i haven't drove it yet but with the holley and the duraspark it idles smooth as can be and revs well also. It definitely is easier to work with, much more space in the engine bay. i had trouble dropping in the dizzy though. Finally figured it out.

You didn't say if you had found the fuse panel yet, so here's a picture of where mine is at with the access panel removed.

Hope this helps.

I found it and got the lights going! :headbang:
Turns out unless you take the access panel off you cant really tell the fuses are there. and all the wires dont help either.
