A small update to this tech article:

The guys over at fordmuscleforums.com have expanded the list to include police interceptors, mustang (basically a t-bird right) SSP/CHP. (one post even references back here)

And just some light googling found there is an aftermarket currently made - amazon claims it fits my 1990 2.9L:

Sorry Jim, I know I make a lot of work for you :D No rush adding it doubt there are many others waiting in line for the info, I really wanted the dig up a more complete interchange list for my own junkyard hunting and figured I would share.

That sent me down a rabbit hole.

I added some other coolers that take the 3/4"-16 thread oil filter.

revision... sorry Jim :giggle: but many many thanks too :giggle::giggle::giggle:

I added some other coolers that take the 3/4"-16 thread oil filter.

The 2.3 Ecoboost has one of those coolers as well. It's just forward of the oil filter. Some pretty big hoses come off that thing. They are atleast 1" hoses, probably bigger.

The transmission oil cooler is just aft of the oil filter as well. It's a fairly decent sized block with some fairly big hoses coming off of it as well.

I got very familiar with that side of the engine while troubleshooting the low oil pressure problem the 2019 was having.

Ya. That cooler is on the updated list.
